Locally sourced, fresh and homemade – Harpenden Golf Club’s caterers are justly proud of their fare. Headed by our chef, Darren Buxton, his well-trained, highly motivated team are often complimented for their professionalism and customer care to both members and guests.
For information, Darren started as an employee in one of London’s Michelin 3-star hotels and then moved to the Dorchester. He has won four separate awards for his cooking. Darren’s first priority is to his customer base i.e. the membership and their visitors.
In the normal course, the bar snack menu, including coffee and tea, can be obtained on a daily basis in the summer months between 11am and 6pm, or between 11am and 5pm in winter. Apart from the above, our catering covers a wide area of activity within the club including catering for societies who are always impressed with the choice and quality of the society menus.

A few years ago, we introduced the concept of the Taster Menu Evening that typically comprises an 8-course gourmet experience.
This format has been well received, as have Themed Dining Nights.
In the summer months our aim is to provide the opportunity for members to enjoy a Barbeque or Hog Roast from time to time.
Of course, there are quite a few social events throughout the year and a suitable menu is tailored to suit each one. Special celebrations such as wedding anniversaries and birthdays can be accommodated and, if recommended by a member, non-members may approach the club with a request to hire the facilities.
The main dining area is able to provide seating for up to 120 guests, with a smaller dining area for 50 and a cosy private dining room for 30.
In short, we are able to meet a variety of requirements and our menus are tailored to suit your needs.
And following an inspection by the Food Standards Agency on 1st November 2016 we are proud to publicise our Food Hygiene Rating of 5!
